PERTH, Western Australia – Nuheara Limited (Company), Australia’s only ASX listed consumer wearables technology company, is pleased to announce that it has reached a significant production milestone in its commercialization of IQbuds™.
The first units, from the Company’s world leading contract manufacturing facility at Flextronics, have now been produced and are being shipped to a third-party certification body for final approval.
After testing and approval by this certification body, IQbuds™ will be issued with marks (labels) to enable distribution and retail sale in specific regions of the world. These marks will initially include FCC (for sale in the USA), IC (Canada), CE (Europe) and RCM (Australian/New Zealand). Other marks will follow in due course. Certification is expected to be completed over the course of the coming weeks. Once approval is obtained, the Company will expect to begin shipments of IQbuds™ to its pre-order customers in these regions.

Commenting of reaching the production milestone, Nuheara CEO Justin Miller said, “In March of this year, the Company announced an aggressive plan to commence commercial production of IQbuds™ by December 2016. At that stage we had only just produced our first working wearable IQbuds™ prototype.
Despite significant technological and manufacturing challenges, it is very pleasing that within the space of 8 months and testing by over 1,000 consumers, the Company has been able to reach such a significant milestone. The engineering of innovative wireless technology for the ear is not without its difficulties. So, it is a credit to our very experienced and capable team that we have remained dedicated to the task and, importantly, remained on schedule.”
