From time to time, you may experience a screeching or unusual sound from your Earbuds. This is ‘feedback’. It can happen when there is a speaker close to a microphone and the noise from the speaker is ‘fed back’ through the microphone, boosting the sound and creating a loop.
Qbuds are designed to prevent feedback, however through normal use, brief feedback sounds can occur due to changing acoustic conditions. This is perfectly normal. Feedback will happen more frequently if the earbuds are not fitted correctly or handled properly.
This FAQ provides some tips to prevent feedback.
DO YOUR IQbudsTM FIT?
Your earbuds should seal your ear canal without being uncomfortably tight. If there is space for sound to escape, it may enter the microphone and cause feedback. Try the different ear tip sizes and shapes to find the right one for you.
ARE YOU HANDLING YOUR IQbudsTM CORRECTLY?
The way you handle your earbuds can make feedback worse. Here are some tips.
- Avoid covering the microphones with your fingers, including when you are using the tap-touch feature.
- Avoid leaving the earbuds upside down.
- When putting your earbuds in the charging case, ensure they are seated correctly. The gold contacts and pins should be touching.
ARE YOUR VOLUMES AT THE MAXIMUM?
There are some changes you can make in the IQbudsTM App to help avoid feedback issues.
Note: Personal Profile settings do not apply to IQbudsTM BOOST.
