They are our wives, brothers, fathers and friends and in some cases they are members of our family.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, we\u2019ve met many Vets of all ages who as a result of their service, struggle to hear what they want to hear in different situations.\u00a0We realize IQbuds\u2122 have the capacity to help many deserving men and women worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>During last year&#8217;s Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, Nuheara launched the &#8220;Give Back to Vets&#8221; initiative, partnering with the <a href=\"http:\/\/returningvetsofdiablovalley.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Returning Vets of Diablo Valley (RVDV).\u00a0<\/a>Through this partnership and with the help of many of our customers, Nuheara committed to giving away 16 pairs of IQbuds<sup>TM<\/sup> to deserving Vets.<\/p>\n<p>Nuheara recently took part in two events to present IQbuds\u2122 to Vets: One with UC Berkeley&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/calveteransgroup.org\">Cal Veterans Group<\/a>, and another at the Concord Vets Center.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 1.75em\">Presenting IQbuds<sup>TM<\/sup> to the Cal Veterans Group<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"clear: both;padding: 5px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nuheara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/iqbuds-cal-veterans.jpg\" alt=\"Nuheara presenting IQbuds to military veterans through UC Berkeley's Cal Veterans program.\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 1.75em\">Nuheara at the Concord Vets Center<\/h2>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nuheara\/posts\/1609595969111944\" data-show-text=\"true\">\n<blockquote class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nuheara\/posts\/1609595969111944\"><p>Last year during the IQbuds crowdfunding campaign, many of our caring customers supported the \u201cGiving Back to Vets\u201d perk&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nuheara\/\">Nuheara<\/a> on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nuheara\/posts\/1609595969111944\">Monday, August 14, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>Last night&#8217;s IQ Buds presentation to the Vets appears to be the beginning of Nuheara&#8217;s effort to get their technology into the ear&#8217;s of those who served. Those who received them were excited and very grateful to your team for the opportunity to experiment with the IQbuds, and to learn how it may help them to hear better, and improve quality of life at home, in the classroom, or at work. Thank you Nuheara Team.<\/em>&#8221; &#8211; <span style=\"color: #404040\">Ryan Berg, Founder of Returning Vets of Diablo Valley<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 1.75em\">Veterans and Hearing Loss<\/h2>\n<p>Hearing Loss is a huge health issue for Veterans. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs offers sobering data on the scope of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.va.gov\/topics\/hearing.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hearing loss epidemic among veterans<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>As of the close of fiscal year 2014, more than 933,000 Veterans were receiving disability compensation for hearing loss, and nearly 1.3 million received compensation for tinnitus. In addition, many Veterans score normally on hearing tests but have difficulty understanding speech. This condition, called auditory processing disorder, is often associated with blast exposure.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Many Veterans find IQbuds\u2122 to be a great solution if they have mild to moderate hearing loss as they allow the users to control how they hear the world around them and also listen to music on their smart devices. Although not an alternative to a hearing aid, IQbuds\u2122 provides a great solution for many Vets and our &#8216;Giving Back to Vets&#8217; is one way we are alerting the Vets community to the benefits of IQbuds\u2122.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 1.75em\">Veterans and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)<\/h2>\n<p>The PTSD Foundation of America reports that one in three returning troops are diagnosed with <a href=\"http:\/\/ptsdusa.org\/what-is-ptsd\/the-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Post-Traumatic Stress symptoms<\/a>. Sadly, less than 40% will seek help.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, Nuheara has only anecdotal evidence suggesting that IQbuds\u2122 help people with PTSD.\u00a0 However, customer feedback suggests that by reducing uncomfortable and distracting noise, while allowing in what the user wants to hear, IQbuds\u2122 have in some cases assisted the quality of life of people with PTSD.<\/p>\n<p>Our mission is to develop products that have a positive social impact through the use of innovative hearing technology.
