Nuheara Ltd (“Nuheara” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it was named a merit winner in the Consumer category at the 2016 National iAwards held at a ceremony last Thursday night in Melbourne.  The iAwards honours organisations at the cutting edge of technology innovation and recognises the achievements of home-grown Australian innovators.

Nuheara co-founder and CEO, Justin Miller said,

“As we move rapidly towards the launch of our IQbuds™ in December, we’re delighted to have been recognised by a distinguished national judging panel, as an award winning disruptive technology in the consumer category.  The national iAward is not only recognition of our unique products and technology but also, the cumulative effort of everyone involved in helping make Nuheara a successful new entrant into the global consumer electronics market.”

As a result of the award, the Company is now one of a select few that will represent Australian innovation at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (apicta.org) held in Chinese Tapei in December 2016.

The Company is also pleased to announce that its collaborative research was successful at the recent Curtin University Commercial Innovation Awards, by winning the Engineering & Science Award for research in to leading edge algorithms, now implemented in IQbuds™.

The awards aim is to recognise the commercialisation efforts of students, staff and corporate partners in identifying new technologies, products or services arising from research at Curtin.

Commenting on the Curtin recognition, Nuheara’s VP of Product, Dr. Alan Davis said,

“Our ongoing research relationship with Curtin is very important to the current and future needs of Nuheara. The award is recognition of cutting edge research and the development of algorithms, which in turn have been adapted into software, specifically designed to suit the needs of IQbuds™ consumers.  Indeed, it is this type of research, development and implementation that continues to allow Nuheara to differentiate its intelligent IQbuds™, from the fashion and fitness wireless earbuds that are now starting to penetrate the global headset market.”
