My name is Venero Armano I’m based in Brisbane. I’ve published 12 novels, two collections of short stories, and I’m an associate professor at the University of Queensland. I was in a band from about 1978 to 1982, and we were very, very loud.
I used to stand really close to the drums and so the cymbals were always crashing in my ears. As I was getting older, I kind of noticed the upper registers of music. I felt like I was beginning to lose them a little bit.
I really thought, look I’ll try these, they’re not going to be any good, and I’ll send them back. Because there is the personalization, I found them so much better than the buds that I was using, I just use them every day.
I take my dog for a walk through this nearby forest. I can hear bird life and the trickling of the streams. When my dog does a pee it sounds like a waterfall. They’re really, really comfortable. I use the noise cancellation all the time. Sometimes, I’ll even use them in this quiet office. It helps me concentrate quite a lot, just be on your own and just think, which is what writers do a lot of. I couldn’t imagine using a better bud, the Max are just perfect.
